Two Sandoval County Sheriff’s Deputies receive an award for their service.

Both Sandoval County Sheriff’s Deputies A.J. Noriega and Luke Osborn of the K-9 Unit received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Rio Rancho Police Department because of the help they gave apprehending a suspect that fled on foot after causing a crash near Campeche Rd. on the night of December 18, 2020. Deputy Osborn arrived on the scene with his K-9 “Udo” in a matter of minutes to assist. After a lengthy search in freezing temperatures, Udo was alerted to the scent of the suspect hiding in the bed of a pickup truck one mile from the crash. This quick response led to the apprehension of a DWI offender and kept the community safe. Congratulations to both of you for a job well done.
