In February and March, the Sandoval County Board of Commissioners sponsored and signed two proclamations.
During the February 26, 2025, Sandoval County Commission Meeting, Commissioner Joshua A. Jones, District 5, sponsored a proclamation signed by the Sandoval County Board of Commissioners declaring February as Black History Month. Commissioner Jones selected Bishop Christopher Keeling, lead chaplain and one of seventeen chaplains for the Rio Rancho Police Department, and Bishop of Unity and Faith Ministries, Rio Rancho, to receive the proclamation. “Black History Month exists because of the efforts of many,” said Keeling.

For the March 12, 2025 Sandoval County Commission Meeting, Commissioner Katherine A. Bruch, District 1, sponsored a proclamation signed by the Sandoval County Board of Commissioners declaring March as Women’s History Month. Commissioner Bruch asked the employed women of Sandoval County in attendance to receive the proclamation.
