Bernalillo Hosting Mountain West Brew Fest Labor Day Weekend

After 27 years of hosting the New Mexico Wine Festival, the Town of Bernalillo is starting a new Labor Day Weekend tradition. The inaugural Mountain West Brew Fest at Bernalillo will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 5 and 6, 2015.

This event will showcase New Mexico’s highly acclaimed craft breweries, as well as some others from around the mountain west region. In total, this event will feature more than 50 breweries, including Taos Mesa, La Cumbre, Boxing Bear, Kaktus, Little Toad Creek, Sierra Nevada, Upslope, and Lagunitas. More than 20 food vendors will be on hand, including CCR Roasting, Irrational Pie, the Lunch Box, and Joe’s Sausage, as well as the number-two-rated food truck from Arizona, GringoDilla.

There also will be continuous live music featuring artists such as the Squash Blossom Boys, Ryan Montaño, Radio La Chusma, Soul Kitchen featuring Hillary Smith and Chris Dracup, and others. The Fest rounds out with a mini-farmers market of roasting green chile and other seasonal offerings as well as Coonridge Goat Cheese, Valley Garlic Oil, and pecans from New Mexico Pecan Company.

The fest will run from noon to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend at Loretto Park in Bernalillo. The park is a quick free shuttle ride or a short walk from the Sandoval/550 Rail Runner station in Bernalillo. If you come by car, have your designated driver use one of the two Bernalillo exists—240 or 242—off of Interstate 25.

Tickets are available online or at the gate. General admission is $20.00 and includes the commemorative glass and sampling. A $30.00 ticket includes entry into the Premium Beer Tent, which will feature rare and specialty beers from the mountain west region.
