About Judge Edward W. Lovato
The Honorable Edward W. Lovato was elected Probate Judge of Sandoval County in 2022 and took office on January 1, 2023. Judge Lovato has practiced probate law in New Mexico since 2017 and brings extensive knowledge and experience to his role as Probate Judge in service to the constituents of Sandoval County.
Judge Lovato was born in Albuquerque and grew up in Rio Rancho. After graduating from Rio Rancho High School, he enlisted in the Marines and served more than thirteen years on active duty in the enlisted and officer ranks. Judge Lovato earned the rank of Captain and he is a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan. Judge Lovato earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Juris Doctor (law) degrees from The University of New Mexico.
Judge Lovato resides in Rio Rancho with his wife and three children.
